Stklm :: Day 3
September 20th, 2005
| 36h04m | Once again, we have breakfast in the garden, this time with freshly baked croissants from ICA. On the way to the underground we observe that some peculiar neighbors have moved to Lappis since the last time we lived here: cows. Paco, a friend from Seville, is dancing in one of the opening performances for the biggest -and first- Nordic Flamenco Festival. Soon after the stage is open to the crowd, Sabine and Rafa encourage themselves to give it a try. We prefer to stay with the audience, particularly when we notice that only women are dancing (Rafa being the exception). | ![]() |
| 40h00m | Larry Ellison‘s ‘Rising Sun’ yacht is docked in front of the Grand Hôtel. Although this time it should be called Petit Hôtel, so as to honor the boat, the fourth largest of its kind in the world. Once in Djurgården, we pop in the Nordiska Museet, where I finally manage to get a Dalarna Horse. | ![]() |
| 44h50m | We have a well deserved 30-minute siesta by the harbor and then take a ferry to Slussen. Pondering the alternatives reveals that the best option for dinner is a vegetarian barbecue at Lappis beach, as in the old times. Sabine and Rafa don’t seem to bother about the freezing cold water and go for a swim. As Alberto joins us, we enjoy the food under a colorful rainbow. | ![]() |
| 48h24m | Following the tradition, we finish the day with a drink downtown. This time at an Irish pub close to Stureplan. Live music and nice atmosphere. The perfect way to end the week. And the holiday. | ![]() |
