Vi tänker på dig Anna Lindh

Ease your trouble
We’ll pay them double
Not to look at you for a while

And you rely on
What you get high on
And you last just as long as it serves you

Explode or implode
Explode or implode
We will take care of it

Yes, we will carry you

’cause you’re deserted
What’s good, you hurt it
And it kills you it keeps you alive

So give it up
In a world of puppets
It’s a shame what they do to us all

Can we do anything for you now ?

Sweden is one of the few countries in the world where even the Head of the State can walk on the street with no protection. I wish strength for the Swedish people to get over this dreadful assassination.

Hi there!

I’m back to Madrid now. The trip to Oxford and Bristol was great… will post some photos as soon as I have some spare time. Have waken up at 4am this morning :(

By the way, I have just read very bad news from Sweden. Apparently, the foreign minister has been attacked in some NK stores in Stockholm. I’m really sorry…

About Mars

The Red Planet hasn’t been so close to the Earth since 60 million years ago, when humans were living in caves. Last Sunday, an experienced amateur astronomer from the place where I work organized a night trip to see Mars, the Moon, and some other deep-space objects. Apart from the freezing cold, it was amazing to see all those fantastic things with such a good telescope. I did some nice photos of the Moon!.

Almost forget… I’m taking a plane in just 2 hours, so I’d better hurry up :) Will be spending the weekend in England (Oxford and Bristol, basically). Be back on Tuesday!

Lunch near Madrid

Chinchón is one of the best places near Madrid to go for a relaxing Sunday lunch. A bunch of traditional restaurants with magnificient cuisine are located in its central square, which is both used as plaza mayor and bullfighting arena. The town is known also for its appearance in the 60′s movie Around the World in 80 Days, with Cantinflas. Its fresh history and picturesque corners are well worth the 40 minutes ride from Madrid.

And to make the day full, nothing better than a good Flamenco performance by Sara Baras followed by a drink at Cuevas del Sésamo.

San Isidro and Caballer

I had never seen live bullfighting before. My first time was in San Isidro this year (thanks Juan for the tickets!). Dunno if I liked it, though. It’s very weird to heard the sharp scream from the bull when it’s being killed. San Isidro is the patron saint of Madrid. There is some kind of celebration everywhere in the city. What I liked most, however, were the fireworks by Caballer. Fireworks experts have the satisfaction of sharing the happiness of town festivals. This quote is engraved in Caballer’s fireworks plant in Valencia, one of the most important in the world. And after a long San Isidro day, some tapas and a night out with friends is the best thing you can do.

Remembrances of the Past

There are so many things to tell… starting from the first weekend in May, when the Pope came to Madrid.

Apart from the Pope, who I didn’t see by the way, Jorge and Sarah were also coming that same weekend. Since then, I haven’t been conscious of how fast and quiet the time has passed.

It’s time to look back at how much I have done till today.
