Picasso’s bday
October 25th, 2002

Pablo Picasso was born October 25, 1881 in Malaga (Spain). I will never stop admiring the Guernica, which is treasured at the Museo de Arte Reina Sofía. It is considered to be the most powerful invective against violence in modern art. I’ve seen it twice this month already. Just impressive.

Just like Mona Lisa I thought Guernica was a bummer when I saw it for real (back in ‘96 I guess). Small, pale, poorly lit. I hope the latter has improved since then.

I don’t think 7,52m times 3,51m is a small painting :-O Anyway, it may be true that it’s pale and poorly lit, but as trying to represent War, it can’t be colorful and excesively bright. I see your point though!
