Fer’s birthday

The kotbullar from Sevilla is filling a quarter of century today. Happy happy birthday Fer! By the way, it’s also the birthday of a less-famous artist called Michael Jackson. No, the one in the photo’s not Jackson, it’s Fer more than half a year ago.

Fuentes Carrionas

I’ve spent some days at the Nature Reserve in Fuentes Carrionas, northern Spain. The way of life there is completely different from the one in the big cities. More relaxed in a way, but it requires hard physical work. I try to spend some days there every year so as to forget the stress and the radio waves of my mobile. All the photos are commented. Idea: we could organize a kotbullar meeting there, someday.

Princess Victoria

Although I’ve been living two years in Sweden, I don’t know almost anything about its Royal Family. Today I read in the newspaper that Princess Victoria, as well as her siblings, are dyslexic (inherited from their father, the King Carl Gustav). Some days ago, Princess Victoria, who is the heir to the Swedish throne, broke her silence and talked about her illness in public. She also suffered from anorexia in 1997, and as a consequence, she had to move to the States for one year in order to be under treatment.

Superman

It’s been rated the best steel coaster in the world. If you’re willing to be lifted over 50 meters and then plunged steeply downward at speeds up to 90 km/h, don’t hesitate to spend a day or two at the Warner Bros Park. You should experience five loopings in a row at least once in your life, although after this your brain will be as twisty and winding as the attraction itself.

If you really hate to have undertow, there’s also an old-fashioned wooden roller coaster with no loopings. The rapids inside the Acme Factory are especially recommended. Be careful with your camera (oops!) as everything inside the boat will get extremely wet.

Some photos here. Almost 40 degrees and blue sky. A perfect day for a visit to the theme park.

Jazz at its maximum expression

6th July 2002. III International Galapagar Jazz Festival, Madrid. Marcus Miller. One of the best bassists of New York, though he plays many more instruments. His own style, influenced by soul and jazz, is worth listening. Try it.

Now listening… David Miles - Music from Siesta
